Résumé / Abstract The method of moments proposed by Carrasco and Florens (2000) permits to fully exploit the information contained in the characteristic function and yields an estimator which is asymptotically as efficient as the maximum likelihood estimator. However, this estimation procedure depends on a regularization or tuning parameter that needs to be selected. The aim of the present paper is to provide a way to optimally choose by minimizing the approximate mean square error (AMSE) of the estimator. Following an approach similar to that of Newey and Smith (2004), we derive a higher-order expansion of the estimator from which we characterize the finite sample dependence of the AMSE on. We provide a data-driven procedure for selecting the regularization parameter that relies on parametric bootstrap. We show that this procedure delivers a root T consistent estimator of Moreover, the data-driven selection of the regularization parameter preserves the consistency, asymptotic normality and efficiency of the CGMM estimator. Simulation experiments based on a CIR model show the relevance of the proposed approach. * An earlier version of this work was joint with Jean-Pierre Florens. We are grateful for his support. Effect of Mean on Variance Funtion Estimation in Nonparametric Regression by
Variance function estimation in nonparametric regression is considered and the minimax rate of convergence is derived. We are particularly interested in the effect of the unknown mean on the estimation of the variance function. Our results indicate that, contrary to the common practice, it is often not desirable to base the estimator of the variance function on the residuals from an optimal est...

Soil particle size distribution and bulk density are used for estimating soil-moisture characteristic curve. In this model, soil particle size distribution curve is divided into a number of segments, each with a specific particle radius and cumulative percentage of the particles greater than that radius. Using these data, soil-moisture characteristic curve is estimated. In the model a scale f...

متن کاملImplementation of the direction of arrival estimation algorithms by means of GPU-parallel processing in the Kuda environment (Research Article)
Direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation of audio signals is critical in different areas, including electronic war, sonar, etc. The beamforming methods like Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR), Delay-and-Sum (DAS), and subspace-based Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) are the most known DOA estimation techniques. The mentioned methods have high computational complexity. Hence using...

Nowadays, estimating the ampere consumption and achieve to the optimum condition from the perspective of energy consumption is one of the most important steps to reduce the production costs. In this research it is tried to develop an accurate model for estimating the ampere consumption by using the artificial neural networks (ANN).In the first step, experimental studies were carried out on 7 ca...
